ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team fell 7-0 on the road Saturday morning against the Flagler Saints at Pollard Tennis Center.
The Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish dropped the doubles point to open the match before Flagler carried that momentum into singles play to secure the sweep.
In singles, PBA battled across the lineup but came up short on each court. At the top spot, Virginia Borja fell 6-2, 6-3 to nationally-ranked Eryka Kruk. Valeria Lopez dropped her match at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1, while Elisa Buhagiar was defeated 6-4, 6-1 in the third position. Daniela Ortiz competed at No. 4 singles, falling 6-0, 6-1, and Sunshine Tarpey rounded out the lineup with a 6-1, 6-0 loss at No. 5. The Sailfish were forced to forfeit the No. 6 singles position and lost the point by walkover.Â
The Sailfish move to 2-10 on the season and return to the court next Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host Florida Southern.Â
