SAINT LEO, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis faced a tough match against Saint Leo University, falling 6-1 at the Saint Leo Tennis Center on Saturday. The 'Fish snagged a doubles win at the No. 3 position and celebrated a singles victory at No. 4.

Saint Leo captured the doubles point with victories on the first two courts. At No. 1 doubles, Alina Hoermann and Valeria Lopez, fell 6-2. The No. 2 doubles match saw Virginia Borja and Anarella Brito drop their match, also with a 6-2 score. The 'Fish claimed a win at No. 3 doubles, as Elisa Buhagiar and Mia Garber edged past Nora Catanzarite and Alexandra Warchausky, 7-5.

In singles, Saint Leo extended their lead with a straight-sets win over Hoermann, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 1 singles. In the No. 2 position Borja fell 6-1, 6-1. Buhagiar fell 6-1, 6-0  at No. 3 singles. Valeria Lopez delivered the Sailfish's lone singles victory at No. 4, with a 7-5, 6-3 triumph against Rabatin.

Saint Leo's Arianna Bettinelli won a hard-fought three-set battle at No. 5 singles, overcoming PBA's Brito 6-2, 1-6, 10-5. At No. 6 singles, Karina Montoya wrapped up singles action with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Daniela Ortiz, sealing the overall win for Saint Leo.

The women's tennis team returns to the court this Monday when they take on Lynn at 2 p.m.
