Men's Tennis Drops Opener to Embry-Riddle

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis team lost to Embry-Riddle by a score of 7-0 on Tuesday at the Crotty Tennis Complex in Daytona Beach, Fla. The 'Fish managed to secure a victory in the No. 1 doubles match, but Embry-Riddle took the two other doubles matches and swept all six singles matches to take the win.

Embry-Riddle started strong, capturing the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Lucas Hoyos and Imani Beharry dropped their match, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles, while Noah Muyale and Matthew Young fell at No. 3 doubles 6-4. Despite a solid performance by Peter Dragar and Milan Visontai, who posted a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles against Enrico Rosellini and Marc Mail, the 'Fish couldn't claim the doubles point.

In the singles matches, Embry-Riddle extended their lead with Dragar falling 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.  Beharry fell 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. In the No. 3 singles, Hoyos dropped his match 6-1, 6-3.

Frederic Tu clinched the match for Embry-Riddle with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Marko Visontai at No. 5 singles. Matthew Young dropped 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 6 singles, and the Eagles completed the sweep of the Sailfish with a hard-fought 5-7, 6-3, 10-6 win over Milan Visontai at No. 1 singles.

Despite the tough loss, Peter Dragar and Milan Visontai's performance in the No. 1 doubles match was a highlight for the Sailfish. However, the challenge proved too great in singles, with Dragar, Hoyos, and Marko Visontai all dropping matches to formidable opponents.

The Sailfish return to the courts on Saturday when they head to Saint Leo to take on the Lions.
