WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Sailfish faced a tough opponent on Monday, falling to Keiser University 6-0 at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
Keiser claimed the doubles point early, taking both matchups. The No. 2 doubles went to Keiser, with Lena Couto and Ella Sahnis overpowering
Elisa Buhagiar and
Daniela Ortiz 6-1. The No. 1 doubles saw Violet Apisah and Patricia Apisah clinch a 6-2 win over
Anarella Brito and
Valeria Lopez, completing the doubles sweep.
In singles play, Keiser kept their momentum rolling. Melnikova delivered a strong 6-1, 6-0 performance over Lopez at No. 1 singles. Grydnieva added another point at No. 4 singles, securing a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Ortiz. At No. 5 singles, Aline Aveiro followed suit, defeating the 'Fish's player 6-3, 6-0.
Patricia Apisah continued the streak at No. 2 singles, overcoming Buhagiar 6-1, 6-3. Keiser's Couto wrapped up the singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Brito at No. 3 singles.
The Sailfish return to the courts on Saturday against Rollins.
