Women's Lacrosse Faces Defeat Against Eagles

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's lacrosse team hit the road for a weekend SSC matchup at No. 7 Embry-Riddle. The Sailfish fought with heart but ultimately fell short, 22-5.

PBA started strong by netting the first goal of the match in the fifth minute of play. Hunter Levinson work quickly to find Rachel Delate who gave the 'Fish a 1-0 lead. ERAU quickly responded by netting six goals in the first quarter of play. PBA was seen trailing the Eagles 6-1 at the end of the first quarter. 

Looking to cut the deficit, Olivia Larges led the charge for the Sailfish at the start of the second quarter. Within two minutes, Larges netted PBA's second goal. Delate notched her second goal of the afternoon on a free position attempt, cutting the deficit to 6-3. ERAU went on an offensive hot streak, netting four goals. PBA was able to respond with a goal from Bella Marchiano in a man-down situation. ERAU was relentlessly, seeing PBA enter the half trailing 16-4.

In the third quarter, Delate joined PBA's 100 goal club with her third goal of the afternoon. With six minutes remaining in the quarter, Delate chopped at the Eagles lead and netted the Sailfish final goal of the afternoon, seeing them drop the match 22-5.

PBA was seen recording fourteen shots and recording six saves on the day. Delate paved the way with three goals while Limpert and Larges had one apiece.

Palm Beach Atlantic will be back in action on Wednesday, April 9 as they remain on the road for another SSC matchup. The 'Fish will travel to Winter Park, Fla. to face Rollins College at 4:00 p.m. (EST).
