WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish dropped their Monday night contest with the Nova Southeastern Sharks by a score of 16-1.
The Sailfish struggled on the mound allowing 15 earned runs on 10 hits and 16 walks. Elijah Budiac, Liam Martin, Gavin Ingram, Jared Murray, Jack Mischke and Richard Daronco each spent time on the bump for PBA to get through the nine innings.
The Sharks put up two runs in each the first and second innings before the Sailfish got on the board with an Andrew Fernandez single that scored Finley Holmes. Fueled by an eight spot in the eigth inning, The Knights added 12 unanswered runs to finish out the game.
Jake McNamara and Aaron Vetter each had multi-hit nights for the Sailfish. Liam Martin was a bright spot for the PBA pitching staff, getting through 3.2 innings of work with only one hit, one strikeout, and no runs.
The Sailfish look to wipe the slate clean on Thursday when Barry comes to the 'Jake' at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.
