Men's Basketball Rebounds For Win at Florida Tech

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's basketball team traveled to Florida Tech for its final regular season away game of 2025.

The Sailfish were led by a balanced attack that featured five players in double-digits. PBA's overpowering offense stunned the Panthers with a 49-point first half, shooting nearly 60 percent from three (7-for-12). Tech's offense matched PBA's in the second half, but the Sailfish held on for the 97-84 win.

Joshua Ward and Jose Roberto Tanchyn tied for the team lead with 16 points each. Tyler Burton and Will Lee notched 14 points each. Alvin Tumblin Jr. scored 10 points with a team-high eight rebounds. Jamaal Walker added nine points with five rebounds. Graham Worland finished with eight points.

The Sailfish built an early lead thanks to some sharpshooting from the trio of Lee, Burton, and Worland. Lee caught the hot hand as the half wound down, leading the Sailfish offense with 12 points in the period, with his fourth 3-pointer giving PBA a commanding 42-25 lead. Burton knocked down another triple to make it 45-25 with 2:16 to go. Tech tried to get some momentum back on its side before halftime, knocking down a pair of 3-pointers to cut into the deficit. The Sailfish went into the break leading 49-36.

The Panthers continued to hit PBA with a barrage of 3-pointers in the second half, cutting PBA's lead back into single digits midway through the period. The 'Fish answered with a 9-2 run, including four points from Tumblin Jr. Florida Tech surged again with another run, but Tanchyn knocked down a dagger 3-pointer to make it 95-81 with 56 seconds left. The big man put the exclamation point on the win with a breakaway dunk to seal the 97-84 victory.

The Sailfish shot the ball well, knocking down 10-of-19 3-point attempts and 11-of-12 free throw tries. PBA scored 21 points off 11 FT turnovers and did a good job taking care of the ball itself, finishing with only four turnovers.

PBA returns home on Saturday with its regular season finale against Florida Southern. The game in Rubin Arena takes place at 4 p.m. Homecoming and senior day festivities will take place before the game.
