WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team matched up with the Keiser Seahawks on Thursday afternoon but fell by a score of 7-0.
The doubles session was not kind to the Sailfish. Playing in the first position, Simona Hantzis Karlsson and Cecilia Peroni dropped their match 1-6. Valeria Lopez and Frida Alsterhem fell in the second position by a score of 0-6. Elsa Brenner and Anarella Brito, playing in the third doubles match, lost by a score of 1-6.
The singles session was as kind to the Sailfish as the doubles session. Alina Hoermann fell 0-6, 0-6 in the first position. Virginia Borja, playing in the second position fell 0-6, 1-6.
In the third match, Simona Karlsson Hantzis pushed her match to a tie breaker but ultimately fell 2-6, 6-3, 0-1 (4-10). Anarella Brito dropped her fourth position match by a score of 1-6,1-6. Elsa Brenner also had a close match in the fifth position but lost by a score of 4-6, 5-7. In the sixth position, Valeria Lopez fell 1-6, 0-6.
The Sailfish have a chance to dust themselves off and get right back up as they take on the St. Thomas Bobcats on the road early on Friday morning.
