Men's Basketball Batters Rams, 93-51

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Palm Beach Atlantic University secured a decisive 93-51 victory over South Florida Bible College on Friday night at Rubin Arena. The Sailfish dominated with 46 bench points and a strong presence in the paint, scoring 40 points down low.

Preston Le Gassick scored 17 points, converting 7 of 10 field goal attempts, and added four assists. Trent McNair matched his scoring with 17 points, making 5 of 8 shots from the field and securing four rebounds. McNair's 17 points is highest point total in a single game since Feb. 7, 2024 when he had 23 points in a game at Lynn. Tyler Burton contributed 15 points, hitting all five of his 3-point attempts, and grabbed two rebounds. Alvin Tumblin Jr. posted a perfect shooting night with 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting and collected six rebounds.

RayRay Collum got his first minutes as part of the Sailfish squad in the game. He knocked down a free throw  after an SFBC flagrant foul to notch his first collegiate point. He also had a defensive rebound. Bobby Hardison also got into the game and had a career high five points. 

The first half began with a strong defensive presence from the 'Fish, as they forced six turnovers and recorded three steals. Le Gassick and Burton led the offensive charge, each contributing significantly to the team's scoring efforts.

The 'Fish built momentum with precise ball movement, recording 14 assists in the half. They capitalized on SFBC's missed opportunities, leading to a series of fast breaks and a robust 9–2 advantage in fast-break points. By the end of the half, the 'Fish had established a commanding lead, closing with a score of 47–24.

The 'Fish increased their momentum in the second half, opening with an early dunk by Tumblin, assisted by Graham Worland, to widen their lead. A significant scoring drive was sparked by Le Gassick, who contributed a steal and a fast-break layup, followed by a three-pointer, leading to a score of 55-33. The team continued their strong performance with a series of successful plays, including a fast-break three-pointer by Kollin Claridy and a defensive rebound leading to a layup by Blake Wilson.

The second half saw the 'Fish dominating in the paint, scoring 24 points, and capitalizing on turnovers with 11 points. They maintained a solid defensive stance, limiting the Rams' scoring opportunities while extending their lead. The game finished with the 'Fish holding a commanding 93-51 advantage, having scored 46 points to the Rams' 27 in the final frame. 

The Sailfish take a little break for Christmas before returning to the floor on New Year's Eve. PBA heads to Florida Southern for their final game of 2025.
