WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's basketball game took care of business against Warner University at Rubin Arena on Monday, securing the win with a commanding 49-31 rebounding advantage. The Sailfish capitalized on turnovers, scoring 18 points off Warner's 15 turnovers.
Preston Le Gassick led the 'Fish with 15 points, converting 5 of 7 field goals, including three from beyond the arc, and dished out six assists.
Alvin Tumblin Jr. contributed 10 points, making 5 of 6 shots from the field, and collected two steals.
Cam Bryant recorded two blocks and went 6 for 8 from the free-throw line, adding six points.
Clay Payne secured nine rebounds and added eight points, providing strong support on the boards.
Palm Beach Atlantic opened the game assertively, scoring the first eight points, highlighted by Tumblin's layup assisted by Le Gassick at 19:42. Le Gassick continued to impact the game by converting a fast-break 3-pointer at 19:07, extending the early lead. The Fish's defense was relentless, limiting Warner's second-chance points and forcing eight turnovers. By the end of the first quarter, Palm Beach Atlantic had established a commanding 42-19 lead.
The Sailfish surged ahead in the second half with a strong offensive performance, highlighted by
Blake Wilson's contributions in the paint, including a series of layups that extended their lead. Tumblin added to the momentum with back-to-back layups at 18:06 and 17:42, assisted by Le Gassick, pushing the score to 47-21.
