WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer team earned the No. 1 spot in the first NCAA super-region rankings released on Wednesday. This marks PBA men's soccer's first appearance in the NCAA super-region rankings since 2022.
PBA also moved up to No. 2 in the United Soccer Coaches' national top-25 on Tuesday. The regional rank puts the Sailfish into a strong position to earn an NCAA regional berth and earn the right to host matches for NCAA regionals. The top 10 teams in each of the four super-regions, qualify for NCAA postseason play.
The Sailfish are one of five Sunshine State Conference schools in the ranking. Lynn, Florida Tech, and Nova Southeastern are ranked two thru four respectively. PBA picked up wins over each of those team's this season. The Gulf South Conference's Mississippi College rounds out the top five.
After an undefeated season in conference play, the Sailfish have put themselves in prime position for the postseason push. Coach
Lucas Martorana's team is dominating on all fronts with 32 goals and only allowing seven.
Tin Vastic finished second in the SSC with 11 goals and Flavio Gianinni was the conference's best keeper in saves and clean sheets.
PBA finished the regular season with a tie against Rollins this past Saturday to clinch the Sunshine State Conference regular season championship.
The Sailfish will start SSC tournament on Monday, hosting Florida Southern on Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Rinker Athletic Campus.
