WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer team was announced as the number one seed in the Super Region 2 portion of the bracket. The championship bracket was revealed during a selection show on Monday evening that was live streamed on NCAA.com. Nineteen teams earned automatic qualification, with the remaining 21 teams selected at-large by the Division II men's soccer committee.
The Sailfish finished the season with a 13-2-2 record while earning the SSC Regular season championship. PBA defeated Florida Southern in the SSC Conference tournament quarterfinals in a double overtime thriller, 1-0 on a goal by Tin Vastic. Rollins got the best of PBA in the semifinal by a score of 2-1. It was the first game the Sailfish had given up more than one goal during the entire season.
The Sailfish will find out their second-round opponent on Friday when the eight seed, Flagler, the Peach Belt Champion, takes on the nine seed, Young Harris who won the Conference Carolinas. Those two teams will battle it out at the RAC this Friday, Nov. 21 at 3 p.m. The winner of that matchup will advance to the second round to take on the Sailfish at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23.
The Sailfish have earned the right to host all the way to the Quarterfinals should they continue to advance.
