ORLANDO, Fla.- The Sunshine State Conference announced their yearly awards on Thursday afternoon.
Flavio Giannini was named the SSC Goalkeeper of the year, the first PBA keeper to receive the honor.
The graduate student from Rome, Italy, recorded eight clean sheets, including seven against conference opponents across his 15 games in net. Giannini led the SSC in goals against average (.462), save percentage (.857), minutes played (1364), and total goals allowed (7).
The Sailfish, the SSC Regular Season Champion, boasts eight award winners, including Defensive Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, and Coaching Staff of the Year. Voting for the awards is conducted among the league's men's soccer coaches.
