Men's Soccer Earns All-SSC Honors

ORLANDO, Fla.- The Sunshine State Conference announced their All-Conference Men's Soccer teams on Thursday afternoon. The Sailfish represented well with five players being awarded All-SSC Honors, with four players on the first team and one player on the third team.

Tin Vastic, named to the first team, has 12 goals on the season and one assist. The junior forward has scored some big goals for the Sailfish, including a hat trick at Wingate and the overtime winner in the SSC quarterfinals against Florida Southern. 

Niklas Mahler, named to the first team as a midfielder, has been a big part of the Sailfish squad. Mahler has played well on both sides of the ball with five goal contributions while also being defensively responsible. Mahler had the lone Sailfish goal in a draw at Tampa and the game-winning goal in the regular season clincher at Nova Southeastern. He also had three assists on the year, two of which came in the 2-0 win against Lynn. 

Juan Hermoso, SSC defender of the year, was named to the first team as well. Hermoso played in all 16 games for the 'Fish and was a stalwart on the back line while also tallying 5 goals on the season. He had the game-winning goal against Tusculum early in the season, two goals against Florida Tech and the late equalizer against Rollins. 

Flavio Giannini, SSC keeper of the year, rounds out the Sailfish named to the first team. Giannini sports a .857 save percentage on the year with 42 saves and only seven goals allowed in 15 games played. He also had 8 clean sheets.

Paul Danner rounds out the All-SSC honors for the 'Fish, being named to the third team. Danner had one goal, an absolute screamer of a shot against Eckerd, and four assists on the season. Danner played in all 16 games on the season, playing 1167 minutes on the backline. He was a big part of the 8 clean sheets on the season. 

The Sunshine State Conference recognizes thirty-three men's soccer student-athletes as All-Conference for the 2025 season. Voting for the awards is conducted among the league's men's soccer coaches.
