LAKELAND, Fla. — The Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball team swept Florida Southern 25-23, 25-14, 25-19 on Thursday at Jenkins Field House.
The victory was highlighted by PBA's efficient attack, registering a .297 hitting percentage with 44 kills. The team also excelled at the service line, recording nine aces. The 'Fish held FSC to a .172 hitting percentage, totaling seven blocks as a team.
Kaley Board led PBA with 13 kills and added three aces, accumulating 16.5 points over three sets, hitting .250.
Grace Reynolds was pivotal in setting up the offense, recording 32 assists and contributing two service aces.
Kelsey Rogers exhibited strong defensive play with five total blocks and added nine kills on 18 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage.
Maggie Patterson contributed significantly on defense with 13 digs and also added five assists.
Eduarda Dutra matched with 13 digs of her own.
Sydney Corbett hit .471 to tally eight kills.

Sydney Corbett each contributed pivotal kills, with Reynolds providing key assists, helping PBA build momentum. A mid-set shift saw
Nae Jordan and Board making significant impacts with kills and blocks, maintaining the intensity.
As the set progressed, the Sailfish matched FSC point for point, with Board and Corbett instrumental in keeping the score tight. A crucial sequence featuring blocks by Jordan and Rogers allowed the 'Fish to edge ahead. The set concluded with the Sailfish securing a narrow 25-23 victory, with Rogers closing the set with a decisive kill.
PBA initiated the second set with a balanced attack, quickly leveling the score at 1-1 due to an error by FSC. Rogers and Reynolds each contributed kills early, maintaining tight competition and keeping both teams within reach. With the score knotted at 7-7, PBA began to build momentum through a combination of opponent errors and decisive plays, including a block by Reynolds and
Harper Stokes.
As the set progressed, the Sailfish extended their lead with a series of effective serves and tactical plays. Patterson delivered two consecutive service aces, while Reynolds consistently set up scoring opportunities, including kills by Jordan and Board. This strategic play resulted in a commanding 20-11 advantage.
PBA closed the second set with further contributions from
Lexi Berry and Corbett, capitalizing on the Moc's errors to seal the set.
Rachel Smith delivered the final point off an assist from
Savanna Rogers, concluding the set with a 25-14 victory.
The 'Fish began the third set by quickly establishing a lead with a kill from Board and a block that contributed to a 2-0 start. Despite a brief rally by the Mocs that saw them take a 7-2 advantage, the 'Fish responded. Board's consistent offensive production, including multiple kills and service aces, helped level the score at 12-12.
As the set progressed, the 'Fish controlled the momentum with effective serving and strong defensive plays. Reynolds facilitated crucial plays, leading to kills by Rogers and Corbett. A decisive service run, including aces from Board and Dutra, extended their lead further. The 'Fish maintained their lead and closed out the set with a service ace from Dutra, sealing a 25-19 victory in the third set.
PBA is set to take on No. 1-ranked Tampa on Saturday. The match on the road starts at 4 p.m.
