'Fish Record Fifth Shutout of the Season Against the Eagles

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Palm Beach Atlantic University defeated Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University 2-0 on Wednesday at Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium. The visiting team secured the victory with two second-half goals, including a game-winner, and held Embry-Riddle scoreless with a solid defensive effort. The 'Fish's goalkeeper recorded four saves, earning a shutout in the process.

The first half commenced with both teams setting a cautious pace. The Sailfish's defense remained resilient, with Flavio Giannini making key saves at the 12th and 25th minutes. The team generated offensive opportunities, including a shot by Juan Hermoso at the 23rd minute, but could not convert them into goals.

As the half progressed, the 'Fish continued to press forward, with Tin Vastic and Ole Lichter both testing the Embry-Riddle goalkeeper. Despite these efforts, the scoreboard remained unchanged. The period concluded with a score of 0-0, maintaining a tense atmosphere heading into the second half.

The second half began with the Sailfish taking control early. In the 51st minute, Tin Vastic scored with an assist from Joshua Wicks, giving the 'Fish the lead. This momentum continued with several offensive pushes, despite a yellow card on Eli Ghebreab shortly after the goal.

The Sailfish extended their lead further when Titus Beuckman found the back of the net in the 77th minute. The team maintained pressure through the period, while goalkeeper Giannini made crucial saves to preserve the advantage. The period concluded with the 'Fish securing a 2-0 victory over Embry-Riddle.

Vastic scored one goal and recorded two shots on goal, including the game-winner for the Sailfish. Beuckman found the back of the net with his only shot of the match. Giannini kept a clean sheet, making four saves over the course of 90 minutes. Wicks contributed an assist, adding to the team's attacking efforts.
