NORMAN, Okla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic men's golf team earned national recognition today as they found their way into the top 25 of the Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll released today. The Sailfish ranking of No. 25 marks the first time in program history that PBA has entered the national golf poll.

The Sailfish impressed in their opening tournament of the season earlier this week as they took the team title at the Saint Leo Griffin Invite. Led by Raines Holmes and Justus Verge, the 'Fish captured a four-stroke victory over Saint Leo and five shots over Coker who are ranked 13th and 17th in the poll respectively. Holmes and Justus Verge each finished tied for third individually at one-over-par for the tournament while all five members of the Sailfish lineup finished inside of the top 30 of the 68-man field. 

Jordan Verge finished 12th for the Sailfish at four-over-par while Cole Gillis finished 20th at +7 and Niko Karoutsos shot ten over for the week, finishing 29th. For the second-straight season, the 'Fish captured a team victory in a fall event after they took the Flagler Jay Jennison Cup last season.

After narrowly missing out on the postseason last year, the Sailfish will look to follow up their victory this coming week as they compete in the DII National Preview. The event takes place near home for PBA at PGA National and has a handful of nationally ranked teams at the tournament taking place on Sep. 23 & 24.
