BABSON PARK, Fla. - The PBA women's soccer team earned its second road win of the season in as many tries when it took down the Webber International Warriors with a four-goal outburst.
The Sailfish, looking to get back in the winning column, had to make a quick turnaround after dropping the home opener on Saturday to Mississippi College. The Sailfish got out to a 1-0 lead in the first half thanks to a long free kick goal from Lea Loubier 15 minutes into the game that snuck past the Warrior goalkeeper.
Coming out of the halftime break, the Sailfish scored three unanswered goals to take a 4-0 lead. A Cassidy Norley corner kick led to a scramble in front of the Warrior goalkeeper and a goal scored by Leah Cook. Later, Marina Leal deposited a cross from Bella Da Silva into the back of the net. Finally, Da Silva would nab her second assist of the match. Da Silva caused a turnover and played a perfect through ball to Ava Taylor. The freshman finished it for her first career goal.
Taylor Jackson and Sammy Peebles split the game in goal each with a solid performance. The Warriors lone goal came on a penalty kick with under ten minutes remaining. The Sailfish were spotless in free play.
The Sailfish will return to action on Thursday when they return home to take on Spring Hill at 6 p.m at the Rinker Athletic Campus.
