WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - This Tuesday afternoon your PBA Sailfish took down Ave Maria 5-2. Earlier this season the 'Fish lost 4-3 to the Gyrenes on the road.
In doubles play, the point was given to the opponents, but the 'Fish fought hard. On court one Roberto Binaghi and Luis Platas fell 7-5. On court three, the pair of Noah Muyale and Joseph Ramirez had the same outcome. The tandem of Juan Fernandez and Matthew Young were the only 'Fish to win their doubles match. They had a final score of 6-3.
In singles play, Binaghi was the only player who dropped his match. His score was 6-4, 7-6 (7-2). Playing second singles, Platas crushed his competition 6-1, 6-1. Juanifer Contreras, on court three, took his match to a super set and came out victorious 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (12-10). Sophomore, Peter Drager, won his match 6-2, 6-4, while fellow sophomore Marko Vistonai won 6-4, 6-3. Axel Reich, playing sixth singles, won his first match of the season with a final score of 6-1, 6-1.
