SACRAMENTO, Cal.- Dominyka Petraskaite represented the Palm Beach Atlantic women's cross-country team at the Division II NCAA Cross-Country National Championship meet on Saturday morning in Sacramento, California.
After qualifying with an eleventh-place finish at regionals, Dominyka finished in 181st place with a time of 23:04.3 in the 6,000-meter race.
The race consisted of the top three teams in every DII region and a few teams that receive at-large bids. Those teams bring their top seven runners and some runners like Petraskaite who placed well at regionals receiving individual at-large bids as well.
Lauren Kiley of Grand Valley State took the individual victory with a time of 20:28.5. Adams State wiped the floor with the rest of the field in the team competition with a score of 61. The next closest team was West Texas A&M with a score of 127.
This marks the end of a great season for Petraskaite who also earned All-SSC honors.
