WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's basketball team won their first game of the season with a 69-66 comeback win over Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. 

Princess Hester scored the first points of the game for the Sailfish with a couple of free throws, but the first quarter was even. Both teams traded shots and finished the quarter tied at 15.  

Mayaguez took the lead going into halftime thanks to some excellent shooting from deep. The Janes were five for ten from three-point land in the first half and led 33-25 at the break. 

The Sailfish came out strong in the first few possessions and cut the Janes' lead to four points. However, Mayaguez stretched the lead out to 16 with 2:56 left in the third quarter.  

The Sailfish began to fight back. Anabel Ellison had nine points in the quarter, including a layup and the foul to reduce the Janes' lead to nine. A Carleigh Andrews fastbreak layup cut the deficit to seven heading into the fourth quarter. 

PBA owned the fourth quarter. Outscoring Mayaguez 20-10, including a 9-0 run to take a 62-60 lead. The first lead for the Sailfish since the 9:06 mark of the second quarter. Anabel Ellison iced the game with six free throws down the stretch. 

The Sailfish have a quick turnaround and host the Claflin University Lady Panthers at noon on Saturday inside the Rubin Arena.
