WEST PALM BEACH. Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's soccer team lost to Lynn 1-0 on Wednesday night in a tightly contested match.
The Sailfish started the game on time and had the Fighting Knights on their heels early with some early chances. A shot from
Lea Loubier found the gloves of the Lynn keeper early in the match. The Knights fought back with some chances of their own including a shot off the post in the eighth minute of play. Both teams fought hard for the ball and traded possession through much of the first half.
Lynn broke the ice in the 37th minute of play. A long ball from Talorie Crafton deflected off the foot of Calista Cali and Riley Casey collected it and slotted it in the back of the net.Â
The second half was much of the same story for the Sailfish. Maintaining much of the possession but not able to find the final pass or finish to equalize the game. The best chance for an
equalizer came in the 78th minute when
Emma Canty got behind the last defender and forced a shot on goal but couldn't find the back of the net.Â
The defense played another excellent game only allowing 2 shots on goal from Lynn. The second game in a row and fifth of the season where PBA has had more shots on goal than their opponent.Â
Sammy Peebles started off the game and allowed one goal.
Taylor Jackson came in relief at halftime and made one save on one shot.Â
