WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team came up short against the No. 2 Nova Southeastern Sharks 4-3 at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
The Sailfish took three of six matches in singles play.
Alina Hoermann pulled out a three-set tiebreaker victory over NSU's Fatima Bizhukova 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (15-13.) Hoermann leads the 'Fish in singles victories with eight this season. On singles court four,
Elvira Edstrom notched her 27th career singles victory against NSU's Kashmira Manohar 7-5, 6-2. On singles court six Annabelle Robichaud earned her 12th career singles win over NSU's Kayla Solagnier 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.
On singles court one,
Svea Crohn was defeated 6-0, 6-1.
Greta Langiu fell 6-0, 6-1. On singles court five,
Jasmine Williams dropped her match 6-4, 6-4.
The 'Fish were swept in doubles play. On doubles court one the PBA pair of
Cecilia Peroni and Langiu lost 6-1. The tandem of
Frida Alsterhem and Edstrom were defeated 6-1. On doubles court three
Giovana Kelm and Robichaud dropped their match 6-0.
Next, the Sailfish travel to Daytona Beach for an SSC match at Embry-Riddle on Saturday, Apr. 8
