AVE MARIA, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis team dropped a match to Ave Maria 6-1 on the road.
The only point for the 'Fish came from
Juanfer Contreras. On singles court two, the Colombia native notched his first career singles victory over AMU's Fernando A. Orihuela 6-7 (7-1), 6-3, 6-4.
On singles court one,
Luis Eduardo Platas was defeated 6-1, 6-2. On singles court three
Peter Drager dropped his match 6-4, 6-2.
Axel Reich took his match to three sets but fell 1-6, 7-5, 10-4.
Juan Fernandez was defeated 6-4, 6-0. On singles court six,
Osvaldo Sergio Godoy fell 6-3, 6-2.
The Sailfish dropped all three matches in doubles play. The PBA tandem of
Marko Visontai and
Blake Williams dropped their match 6-2. The Sailfish duo of Contreras and Platas suffered their fourth doubles loss of the season 6-3. Contreras and Platas are 6-4 in doubles play this season. On doubles court three,
Roberto Binaghi and
Michal Precikowski were defeated 6-2.
Next, the Sailfish travel to Daytona Beach for an SSC matchup with Embry-Riddle on Saturday, Apr. 8.
