ORLANDO, Fla. -- Palm Beach Atlantic dropped both of their road doubleheader games against #10 Rollins College earlier this evening. The Tars were looking for revenge from last night's game against the Sailfish and were able to shut down the upset bid.
The Tars struck first in the bottom of the first inning off of an RBI double that scraped down the left field line. PBA would struggle to get anything going until the middle innings of the game.
Matty Warren led off the fourth with a double to right center followed up by a single up the middle from
Ben Green.
Nate Housen reached base on a fielder's choice, but not before managing to knock in a run.
In the fifth, PBA was able to load the bases and the Tars would walk in a run. A sacrifice fly ball from
Matthew Faranda would give the Sailfish a 3-1 lead going into the last three innings of game two. The Tars would make their move in the sixth inning, going for four runs on back to back RBI doubles and a RBI single later in the inning.
Rollins would take back the lead after that outburst and held the lead for the rest of the game, winning 5-3.
The rubber match was a disappointing loss for the Sailfish as they couldn't get anything going in this final game. The 'Fish only managed to get one hit compared to the 15 the Tars rattled off. That one hit served as PBA's only run in this game as well, as
Giovany Lorenzo would go yard for his second home run of the season. Rollins would dominate this game from the early onset and never looked back, winning 10-1.
PBA will take on Nova Southeastern in a mid-week matchup on Apr. 25.
