WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team had its two-match win streak snapped by No. 7 Wayne State. PBA fell to 2-1 all-time versus the Warriors.
The Sailfish took two of three doubles matches from the Warriors and won the doubles point. The PBA tandem of
Greta Langiu and
Cecilia Peroni picked up their second doubles win of the season over WSU's Malak Arafat and Dea Gorgidze 7-6 (7-5.) The PBA pair of
Frida Alsterhem and
Elvira Edstrom (2-0) defeated WSU's Martyna Szpakowska and Shanice Weekes 6-3. On doubles court one the PBA pair of
Jelsyvette Croes and
Jasmine Williams made their first appearance in doubles play but were defeated 6-2.
The 'Fish took three of six singles matches to a third set but came up short. On singles court one,
Alina Hoermann fell 6-2, 1-6, 6-4. Langiu was defeated 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. On singles court three,
Alessia Passerini's five-match win streak was snapped. She dropped her match 6-0, 6-2. Peroni (6-4) was defeated in three sets 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. On singles court five, Alsterhem fell 6-3, 6-4.
Anabelle Robichaud dropped her match 6-0, 6-2.
