WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team picked up its second consecutive nonconference victory over Hillsdale 4-3.
PBA freshman
Avery Brothers picked up her first career singles victory over HC's Courtney Rittel 7-6, 6-2.
Cecilia Peroni earned her fourth consecutive singles win over Ellie Chawner 6-4, 6-0. Peroni has amassed 11 career singles wins and is 5-3 in singles play this season.
Alessia Passerini notched her 10th career singles victory over Libby McGivern 6-3, 6-2. The Italian native is currently on a five-match winning streak.
The Sailfish took two of three doubles matches and earned the doubles point. The PBA pair of Peroni and Langiu picked up their first doubles victory over Chawner and McGivern 6-4. The tandem of
Elvira Edstrom and
Frida Alsterhem made their first appearance in doubles play and defeated Julia Wagner and Canela Luna 6-1.
Svea Crohn and
Jasmine Williams dropped their match 6-3.
On singles court one Crohn fell 6-2, 6-4. Langiu was defeated 6-4, 6-2.
Alina Hoermann took her match to three sets, but fell 4-6, 6-2, 10-8.
Next, PBA looks for its third straight nonconference victory when it hosts Wayne State on Monday, Mar. 13.
