WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team notched its first victory of the season over Ave Maria 5-2. Additionally, this marks the first victory fo the 'Fish under first year head coach
Marc Murray.
The Sailfish dropped the doubles point to the Gyrenes but rallied back in singles play. In doubles court one
Svea Crohn and
Cecilia Peroni were defeated 6-1. The PBA pair of
Elvira Edstrom and
Anabelle Robichaud were defeated 6-3.
Frida Alsterhem and
Alessia Passerini earned their first doubles win of the season over Aethielle Kelkboom and Abigail Rich 6-2.
During singles play, PBA took five of six singles matches. In singles court one Crohn defeated Colin Calentine 7-6, 6-0. The freshman is 2-2 on the young season.
Alina Hoermann picked up her first singles win of her career. The freshman from Germany defeated Andrea Rodriguez Oria 6-0, 7-6. In singles court three Edstrom dropped her match 6-3 in consecutive sets.
Cecilia Peroni notched her second win of the season over Regina Ruiz 6-2, 6-4.
Giovana Kelm earned her first singles win over Aethielle Kelkboom 7-5, 6-4.
Anabelle Robichaud defeated Nicolle Koop 6-0 in consecutive sets for her first singles victory of the season.
Next, PBA hosts Keiser on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
