ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball team finished its weekend with a conference match against the Eckerd Tritons on Saturday afternoon.
The Sailfish (6-9, 2-6 SSC) tried to build off Friday night's victory at Saint Leo. Eckerd (12-3, 5-3 SSC) halted the PBA momentum by outhitting the 'Fish .425 - .032. The Tritons took the match against PBA 3-0.

The PBA attack was slow out of the gates as the Eckerd front row made things difficult. The 'Fish fell behind 14-7 in the first set but battled back to make it 14-11 thanks to three unforced errors by the Tritons and a kill from Zylstra. PBA hung around in the set until a 6-0 run that included three PBA errors and two EC aces won the set for the Tritons, 25-16.
The Tritons snatched a 5-0 lead early in the second set and never looked back. Six total blocks from EC affected the Sailfish attack. The 'Fish dropped the second set, 25-13.
PBA had its best performance of the match in the third set. The Sailfish hit .229 in the third set with 12 kills as a team. The 'Fish led for the first half of the set, but a 7-1 run from the Tritons allowed the hosts to take a 21-17 lead. EC held on to win the set, 25-21 clinching the match.
