WEST PALM BEACH, Fla- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss to Florida Southern on Saturday at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center. The Sailfish fell to 5-7 on the season.
In doubles competition, the 'Fish took 1/3 matches.
Roberto Binaghi and
Luis Eduardo Platas dropped their match 6-2.
Umberto Rosi and
Jorge Santamaria fell 6-4. The lone victory in doubles competition came from the PBA pair of
Rodolfo Hasegawa and
Blake Williams. The tandem earned their 11th win of the season over FSC's Brian Pham and Brandon Pham 6-2. Hasegawa and Williams leads the Sailfish in doubles play this season with an 11-1 record.
In singles competition, Hasegawa fell 6-4, 6-1.
Juan Fernandez picked up his third singles victory of the year over Hikaru Nagoshi 6-3, 6-1. Santamaria (7-4) defeated Chris Fok Kow 6-3, 6-3. Williams dropped his match 7-5, 6-4. Binaghi took his match to three sets but fell 1-6, 6-3, 6-2. Eduardo Platas lost in three sets 7-6, 2-6, 6-2.
Next, the Sailfish host No. 6 Embry-Riddle on Tuesday Apr. 12 at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
