WEST PALM BEACH, Fla- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to the No. 22 Embry- Riddle Eagles on Tuesday at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center. The Sailfish fell to 6-11 on the year.
In doubles competition, the Sailfish took one of three matches. The PBA pair of
Verena Weindl and
Courtney Page picked up their sixth doubles victory of the season. The Weindl-Page duo took down ERAU's Itxaso Blanco and Carla Cabrera del Hi 6-4.
Elvira Edstrom and
Anabelle Robichaud fell 6-3.
Frida Alsterhem and
Alisa Grachova were downed 6-3.
For singles competition the Sailfish won one of six matches. Edstrom dropped her match 6-1 in consecutive sets. Robichaud was downed 6-1, 6-0. Alsterhem (6-5) fell 6-4, 6-2.
Cecilia Peroni suffered her second loss in singles competition. Peroni (6-2) fell 6-4, 6-4. Weindl dropped her match 6-4, 7-5. PBA's lone win in singles competition came from
Jasmine Williams. Williams won her match over Julia Mautner 7-6, 6-3.
The Sailfish will conclude their regular season when they face St. Thomas on Thursday Apr. 14 at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
