WEST PALM BEACH, Fla- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team pulled out a 4-3 victory over St. Thomas on Thursday at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
The Sailfish swept the Bobcats in doubles competition.
Elvira Edstrom and
Anabelle Robichaud earned a 6-1 victory over Lia Pena and Carme Ibanez. The PBA pair of
Courtney Page and
Verena Weindl pulled out a 7-5 win over Annie Carrera and Maria Camila Puente.
Alisa Grachova and
Frida Alsterhem took down Maruschka Berghaus and Sofia Colvee 6-4.
In singles competition PBA split with St. Thomas. Alsterhem notched her seventh singles win of the season over Ibanez 6-2, 6-3. Weindl defeated Lauren Seemann 6-2, 6-1.
Cecilia Peroni (6-3) fell 1-6, 6-0, 10-6. Robichaud took her match to three sets but lost 6-2, 3-6, 10-4.
Greta Langiu dropped her match 7-6, 6-4.
With the game tied at three points each
Jasmine Williams clinched the victory for PBA. Williams defeated Puente 6-4, 7-6. Williams took the tiebreaker 7-4.
PBA concluded its season with a 7-11 record. Next, the Sailfish will compete in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.
