WEST PALM BEACH, Fla- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team dropped a home match to the Keiser Seahawks 4-2. For the 'Fish they fall to 1-3 on the year.
The Sailfish were swept through doubles competition. The tandem of
Courtney Page and
Verena Weindl dropped their match 6-1 to Nicole Coopersmith and Vanja Vidanovic.
Alessia Passerini and
Jasmine Williams fell to Kahea Companion and Joyce Nouws 6-4. The PBA pair of
Elvira Edstrom and
Anabelle Robichaud lost 6-2 to Keiser's Isabella Perez Flores and Kanon Sorakubo 6-2.
In singles competition, Edstrom dropped a two set match to Coopersmith 6-2, 6-0. Weindl lost to Vidanovic 6-0 in consecutive sets. Robichaud fell to Perez Flores 6-0, 6-2. Some brightspots for the Sailfish came from
Cecilia Peroni, and Passerini. Peroni defeated Nouws 7-6, 6-0. Peroni needed a 7-3 tiebreaker to win the first set. Passerini took the first set against Companion 7-5. Passerini dropped the second set 6-2. Passerini pulled out the victory with a 10-8 tiebreaker in the third set.
Up next the Sailfish will travel to Tampa for a conference battle against the Spartans on Feb. 26.
