Sailfish Hire Josh Horne as Men's Soccer Associate Head Coach

2/14/2022 3:20:00 PM

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer program has added a new member to its coaching staff prior to the beginning of its 2022 spring schedule. Josh Horne will serve as the associate head coach for the program that made the NCAA Tournament for the sixth straight season this past year.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to bring Josh on board at Palm Beach Atlantic," said head coach McMahon. "After an extensive search and large candidate base, Josh stood out as the ideal candidate for the position and came highly recommended from the coaching community. I look forward to the impact he will have on our program as we continue to maintain and build on the championship standard we have created at PBA."

Horne joins the Sailfish after spending five seasons as an assistant at the University of Alabama Huntsville. During his time with the Chargers, Horne helped lead the team to the semifinals of the Gulf South Conference Tournament during his first three seasons. The Stoke-On-Trent, England, native went to UAH after his playing career at Hastings College finished where Horne was a member of the 2016 NAIA national championship squad. Horne graduated from Hastings with a degree in exercise science and kinesiology. At Palm Beach Atlantic, Horne will be a vital part of player recruiting, game planning, daily training sessions, and player and film scouting.

"I want to express my gratitude and thanks to Mac and Courtney for the opportunity to move down to Palm Beach Atlantic University," said Horne. "This is a program with great stature and I am extremely excited to not only be a part of the program but to help push it towards further success in the Sunshine State Conference and national level."

Horne brings his championship experience to a Sailfish side that will be looking to build on the success from this past season when PBA captured their fourth SSC title since 2017. PBA has compiled a 40-5-4 record in their time in the SSC and a 103-23-11 record overall since coach McMahon took over in 2014. The program has been ranked in the top-6 nationally six years in a row and has created three SSC Player of the Year winners, 18 All-Americans, and 45 All-Region players.
