MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer team earned All-Sunshine State Conference team honors this afternoon as
Federico Serra was named to the second team. All SSC awards were voted on by coaches within the conference.
PBA winger Serra earned All-SSC Second team accolades this season after playing in 13 of the 15 games the Sailfish played this season. Despite missing two games, the Italy native was second on the team in points with 12. He was tied for the team lead in goals with five and also added two assists. Serra found his form at the right time of the season as he scored three goals in the final two games of the year as the 'Fish fought to get into the postseason. He scored the game-winning goal in PBA's 2-0 win over Eckerd and scored both goals in their 2-2 finale against Nova Southeastern.
Serra becomes the 19th player selected to an All-SSC team since the Sailfish joined the conference in 2016. The 'Fish have had three SSC Players of the Year including the previous two prior to this season.
PBA's season came to an end after falling one point short of making the SSC Tournament. The Sailfish finished 8-5-2 overall and 4-4-2 in conference play and saw their six straight postseason appearances come to an end.
