WEST PALM BEACH, Fla- The No. 16 Palm Beach Atlantic women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought match to No. 22 Embry-RiddIe 2-1.
The first half of the match featured a scoring frenzy in the last ten minutes. In the 35th minute, ERAU defender Marianna Pezzella found a cutting Sofia Munthe Nillson in front of the net. Nillson scored from point-blank to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

Michaela Boyd. Boyd fired a shot from just inside the box, Boyd's blast hit off the fingertips of the ERAU goalkeeper and into the top of the net. Boyd's first goal of the season tied the game at 1-1 heading into halftime.
Embry-Riddle struck again in the 59th minute. ERAU midfielder Isabella Navren initiated a drive to the right side of the box. Navren kicked a deep shot that hit the top left corner of the goal, which gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead. PBA had opportunities down the stretch to answer back but failed to find another equalizer. The Eagles outshot the Sailfish 7-3 in the second half. Through 90 minutes, the Sailfish had opportunities down the stretch but their comeback came up short for a 2-1 defeat. It's the first match PBA has dropped at home all season.
Up next for the No.16 Sailfish (8-3, 5-2 SSC) will be Eckerd College on Saturday, Oct. 23.
