LAKE NONA, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team continued its spring break schedule with a match against Southern New Hampshire on Saturday.
The Sailfish earned their second straight win in as many days with PBA (5-4) making easy work of SNHU (11-4), 7-0. PBA started by winning each doubles match in impressive fashion starting with 6-0 win by
Shelby Groeneveld and
Rebecca Keijzerwaard.
Verena Weindl and
Elvira Edstrom followed with a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles to clinch the doubles point.
Yuliia Russu and
Quinty Janssen won their match at the No. 2 position, 6-2 to make it a clean sweep in doubles play.
Groeneveld started singles play with a win at the No. 1 spot. Russu gave PBA a 3-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles. Edstrom clinched the match for PBA at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-4.
Anabelle Robichaud defeated Elizabeth Dwyer, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6 singles followed by Sailfish wins at the No. 2 and No. 4 spots by Keijzerwaard and Janssen to complete the clean 7-0 victory for PBA.
The Sailfish will take Sunday off before facing Hillsdale in on Monday. The match at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center starts at 4 p.m.
