WINGATE, N.C. - Palm Beach Atlantic baseball dropped a lopsided battle to Valdosta State on Saturday evening in the second game of the weekend. The Sailfish (2-2) could not anything going at the plate while the Blazers (3-2) were firing on all cylinders which resulted in a final score of 13-0.
The Sailfish were able to keep things close through the first four innings against the Blazers. Troy Klemm went 4.2 innings giving up six hits and only two earned runs on 100 pitches but was charged with the loss putting his record at 1-1 on the season.
Redshirt Senior Jake Sciarrotta made his Sailfish debut coming in the sixth throwing .2 innings and striking out one batter while surrendering no runs. Chris Campbell finished the game for the Sailfish on the mound going two innings while striking out five and holding the Blazers to zero runs during his time on the mound.
The Sailfish collected four hits in the game with Sean Houck, Andreas Papageorge, Sebastian Salado, and Carlos Lara each getting one hit apiece. Louis Zayas made his first collegiate appearance in the game as well.
Palm Beach Atlantic will wrap up play in North Carolina on Sunday as they take on host team Wingate University at 12 p.m.
