WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – After a slow start the Palm Beach Atlantic women's lacrosse team cruised to a 21-8 victory over Ave Maria on Wednesday night.
Kiki Cinotti became the program's first 100-point scorer with her fifth assist of the night. She also scored five times in the game to reach the century mark in points in just her 18th game.
PBA trailed 2-0 and 4-2 early in the game to the Gyrenes before embarking on a an 8-0 run to take a 10-4 lead. AMU added a goal just before halftime to end the run as the 'Fish led 10-5 at the end of the first 30 minutes.
The 'Fish poured it on in the second half, outscoring AMU 11-3 as Cinotti padded her stat line with four of her five assists. Grace Bartlinski added four goals in the game and one assist as she heads into the next contest on 99 career points.
Nine different Sailfish scored in the game with 10 recording a point. Anna Laskaris added three goals while Nicole Townsend finished with two goals and an assist. Chelsea Smith and Maddie Frye also had multi-goal games for PBA with Kate LeBlanc, Riley Latshaw and Kelly Lyons all finding the back of the net. Lindsey Heffler added two assists.
Lyons and Smith led the team with six draw controls each as PBA dominated at the center circle 19-11. The 'Fish outshot AMU 41-11 in the game.
PBA is back in action on Saturday, February 29 as they host Gannon at 7 p.m.
