Jackson has 25 in Men's Basketball Rout of Saint Leo

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's basketball team hosted Saint Leo at Rubin Arena on Saturday afternoon in hopes of winning its seventh straight contest.
 
The Sailfish did just that as they operated on all cylinders against the Lions. PBA (18-6, 11-5 SSC)  shot 54 percent from the field and held Saint Leo (14-10, 8-8 SSC) to a 38 percent performance, resulting in a 93-64 rout for the 'Fish. Tonight notched the 10th SSC win of the season for PBA which is the most since joining the conference.
 
PBA had a balanced attack on offense as five players scored in the double digits. De'Ondre Jackson led the charge for the Sailfish with 25 points, four rebounds and two steals. Dan Largey had 18 points with five rebounds and three assists. Darhius Nunn and Jules Jasmin tallied 15 points each. Nunn finished led the squad with five assists while Jasmin had a team-high eight rebounds. Malek Barber added 11 points and seven rebounds.
 
After an evenly played ballgame through the first ten minutes of action, the Sailfish began to pull away. A jumper from Nunn kickstarted a 14-2 run for PBA. Every point was scored by either Jackson or Nunn in the run. The run gave the 'Fish a 34-18 lead with eight minutes left in the period. They rode the momentum into the halftime break, leading 45-31.
 
PBA wasted little time getting going after the break. A little over two minutes into the half, 16-4 run that gave the 'Fish a 66-41 lead. 3-pointers from Nunn and Largey followed to make it 74-42 PBA. Saint Leo had no answer for the 'Fish who cruised to the 93-64 win.
 
The Sailfish had their way in the paint, outrebounding the Lions 49-25 in the game while outscoring them 52-8 in points in the paint. PBA tallied 17 offensive rebounds which led to 17 points for the 'Fish. The defense also forced Saint Leo into 13 turnovers, resulting in 23 points for PBA off Lions' miscues.
 
The Sailfish have a tough test ahead of them in the form of Nova Southeastern on Wednesday. The game at Rubin Arena will start at 7:30 p.m.
