WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's lacrosse hung with No. 21 Saint Leo early before the Lions pulled away for a 26-6 victory.
The Sailfish held an early 3-2 lead as Grace Bartlinski scored three times in the first 10:15. Twice she found the back of the net unassisted and once she got a feed from Kiki Cinotti. Moments later the Lions tied the score as they began an eight-goal run that put things out of reach in the first half. PBA tallied another goal before half as Kate LeBlanc scored but the Lions led 16-4 at the break.
In the second half Shayna Rogers and Julia Del Carmen both scored for the 'Fish. Brooke Schoch led the way with three caused turnovers while Abigal Nehring collected five ground balls. Eleven different players were credited with a ground ball for PBA. Nehring also made nine saves in goal.
The Lions took 40 shots in the game while PBA managed 19. The Lions narrowly led in draw controls, taking 18 of the 33.
PBA is back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Melbourne to take on Florida Tech at 7 p.m.
