MELBOURNE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's lacrosse dropped a Sunshine State Conference game 20-7 to Florida Tech on Wednesday, as PBA falls to 5-7 overall and 0-4 in SSC play. Florida Tech improves to 6-7 with the SSC victory.
The Sailfish trailed 12-5 at the half as FIT got off to a hot start offensively on the evening. Shayna Rogers had two goals on three shots in the opening 30 minutes, while Anna Laskaris added two goals of her own in the first half.
Grace Bartlinski and Kiki Cinotti scored goals for the Sailfish in the second half, as Cinotti finished with two goals and an assist in the game.
The Sailfish didn't have an answer for Molly Kaplan from FIT on the night, who scored seven goals in the game. Leah Dunn added six goals and two assists for the Panthers.
Abigal Nehring and Chanel Nassir led the 'Fish with three ground balls each in the game while Nassir led the Sailfish with three caused turnovers.
The Sailfish will be back in action on Saturday, April 13 as they will travel to Tampa for a 1 p.m. game against the No. 5 ranked Spartans.
