TAMPA, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's lacrosse was unable to overcome No. 5 Tampa on Saturday, falling to the Spartans 23-5.
PBA fell behind early and were never able to recover as Tampa scored the first six goals. Lindsey Heffler got the 'Fish on the scoreboard with 18:02 left before halftime. Kate LeBlanc and Kiki Cinotti scored before halftime but the Spartans held a 15-3 advantage at the break.
In the second half LeBlanc and Grace Bartlinski were able to each score but Tampa outscored PBA 8-2 in the second half. PBA was able to take 20 shots in the game but Tampa fired off 44. Abigal Nehring made 14 saves in goal for the 'Fish and led the team with five ground balls.
PBA will close out the regular season next Saturday as they welcome Florida Southern to the RAC at 4 p.m.
