HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis picked up their fifth straight victory on Thursday, defeating Tiffin by a final score of 5-2.
The Sailfish took No. 1 and 3 doubles to secure the doubles point before securing victories at No. 1, 2, 4 and 6 singles to improve to 4-0 in their time in the Palmetto State.
In singles Bella Mermersky shut out Abbie-Jade Riley at the No. 1 position, winning 6-0, 6-0. Down at No. 6 Verena Weindl did the same to her opponent Shea Foster. Vanessa Buchbinder won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 while Yuliia Russu came back to win in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 10-2.
In doubles action Buchbinder and Russu teamed together to win at No. 1, 6-1 while Nicole Reich and Elvira Edstrom were victorious 6-3.
PBA closes out their stay in Hilton Head on Friday with a 9:30 a.m. match against Mercyhurst.
