WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis was unable to take down No. 2 Saint Leo on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Lions 6-1.
PBA's lone win came at No. 2 singles as Vanessa Buchbinder defeated nationally ranked No. 26 Kristyna Jurkova in three sets. Buchbinder dropped the first set7-5 before winning the second 6-2 and the third 10-7. Both Elvira Edstrom and Bella Mermersky went three sets in their singles matches with Mermersky challenging No. 43 Marta Vicens Miquel before falling 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2). Anna Marija Bukina defeated Edstrom 6-7 (4), 6-4, 10-7.
The Sailfish are back in action on Thursday as they host Florida Tech at 3 p.m.
