DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis fell on the road Sunday afternoon, losing to Embry-Riddle 6-1.
PBA managed to win one doubles match and one singles match, both involving Vanessa Buchbinder. She won her singles match at No. 1 in three sets and also won in doubles, 6-3, alongside Yuliia Russu at No. 1. The duo defeated Roberta Krvajica and Itaxso Blanco. In singles, Buchbinder took down Blanco 6-4, 0-6, 6-3.
Two other singles matches went three sets with the Eagles claiming victory in both. At No. 5 Elvira Edstrom took the opening set from Alexis Marshall but dropped the next two, 6-7 (2), 6-4, 10-7. In the No. 6 spot Nicole Reich took the opener 6-3 but fell to Mafalda Soares 6-2, 10-1 to drop the match.
The Sailfish return home for their final home match on Saturday, April 13 against Tampa at 10 a.m.
