WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis defeated Colgate University on Monday, as they cruised to a 6-1 victory at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center. The Sailfish improve to 7-3 with the win and have won seven straight matches.
PBA took the doubles point on the day, as Vanessa Buchbinder and Yuliia Russu won easily at No. 1 doubles and Nicole Reich and Elvira Edstrom also won easily at No. 3 doubles.
Bella Mermersky defeated her No. 1 singles opponent 6-2, 6-1 on the say while Buchbinder followed suit with a 6-1, 6-3 win of her own. Reich picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles while Edstrom won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5. Verena Weindl was the final 'Fish to win a match on the day, as she won 6-1, 2-6, 10-3 on the day.
The Sailfish will return to action on Wednesday, March 13 as they will host Hillsdale at 3 p.m.
