WINTER PARK, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic's men's basketball team pulled away late against Rollins College on Saturday evening. The Sailfish (10-12) battled all game to keep it close with the Tars (9-14) before pulling away in the end to win the game 91-80.
The Sailfish offense was strong in the first half as they shot over 50 percent from the field and 54 percent from three. De'Ondre Jackson knocked down two of his four three tries while Paxton Wilson connected on three of his five tries. Rollins did have a lead of up to 10 in the opening half before the Sailfish tied the game right before halftime on a Wilson three-pointer.
The second half was more of the same for the Sailfish. Jules Jasmin scored 17 of his 19 while Bakari Warthen added 15 of his own. The Sailfish grabbed the lead with 10 minutes remaining on a Jackson three and never looked back extending their lead as much as 13 before winning the game by 11.
PBA ended the game shooting 55 percent from the floor which included a 54 percent mark from three point land. Jackson hit five three-pointers in the game while going 7-for-11 from the field for 25 points. Jasmin was just shy of the 20-point mark scoring 19 and adding seven rebounds to his stat line.
The Sailfish will return to action on Wednesday Feb. 13 as they travel to Lakeland, Fla. to take on Florida Southern. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
