LAKELAND, Fla.- Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf competed in the Lady Moc Classic Monday and Tuesday hosted by Florida Southern College. The Sailfish finished 14th in the field of 17 and scored a total of +82 throughout the three days. Sunshine State Conference teams were able to take the top five spots in the tournament with Nova Southeastern finishing first overall and Barry and Lynn tying for second. SSC members Florida Tech and Saint Leo came in fourth and fifth.
The Sailfish finished the first day with an overall score of 635 putting them at +18 and in 14th after two rounds of golf. The second day featured one more round but nothing would change for the Sailfish as they remained in 14th after the day was finished. PBA was led by Jewel Jorgensen who shot a +12 over the three rounds putting her in a tie for 30th place. The next lowest score was from Taylor Sukmana who finished +16 and tied for 43rd overall.
NoraNoel Nolan finished +28 and placed 80th while Alex Dowd finished one stroke behind with a +29 and tied for 81st. Deanna Confessore was the fifth Sailfish in the tournament and finished +33.
The 'Fish will return to the links in the Gary Freeman Invitational hosted by Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Fla. on Mar. 7-8.
