WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic's women's basketball dropped a conference matchup on Saturday afternoon against Eckerd College in Rubin Arena. The Sailfish (4-18) were outmatched against the Tritons (18-6) as Eckerd won the game soundly 63-42.
The Sailfish were 7-of-30 from the field, shooting under 25 percent. Taylor Laabs led the 'Fish in scoring in the first half with six of the team's 18 points. Eckerd was able to maintain an easy lead and were up at half time 30-18.
The second half was more of the same as PBA put up 10 points in the third quarter and 14 in the fourth. The Sailfish made three buckets in each the third and fourth quarter. The Tritons on the other hand accounted for 33 points in the entire second half and breezed to a 63-42 victory.
Jonika Garvin was the lone Sailfish with double-digit scoring as she put up 10 points while collecting eight rebounds. Darsan DeShazier finished the game with eight points in her 24 minutes of work.
The Sailfish will be back in action on Wednesday Feb. 20 as they host Barry in Rubin Arena.
